Why won't whatsapp work on my iPhone
Pretty soon (may 5th 2025 to be exact) Whatsapp will stop working on any iPhone older than iOS 15.1.
Firstly that means no messages, no group chats, no backups, nothing. If you've got an older iPhone, you'll need to either upgrade or switch devices or miss out on those important WhatsApp chats.
Secondly, the models being cut by WhatsApp if you have an iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 Plus in your pocket.
You're going to be impacted by the ban which were once the best-selling phones on the planet. These devices are now categorized as obsolete by Apple, which means no support or replacement parts are available for its path, WhatsApp says. It's pulling the plug due to the security risks and the lack of capability to run modern messaging features.
Thirdly, what can you do? Well, if you're affected, WhatsApp suggests upgrading to a supportive model. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 10 are now the oldest iPhones that'll still work. Just be warned, these might not be supported for much longer either. So, check your iPhone model now, or risk being logged out of your WhatsApp chats for good.
