LCD v OLED The differences between screens

Screen Fix needed? Been searching online to see if it can be replaced and found a huge array of different prices ? Not all screens are created equal and it helps if you know what you are paying for.

LCD SCREENS

Budget Friendly

  • Lowest price of all three options
  • Less Durable – less prone to burn-in (ghost images) over time
  • Higher battery use – the backlight stays on even for dark images
  • Softer visuals – colours appear slightly washed out; blacks look closer to dark grey

OLED SCREENS

Premium Quality

  • Deep blacks and rich colours for a cinematic viewing experience
  • Better battery life – black pixels turn off completely, saving power through the day
  • Slimmer build – thinner than LCD, so it sits flush in the frame
  • Faster response – smoother gaming and scrolling because pixels react almost instantly
  • ‘Close’ but not the same as Original Screens but the best alternative

ORIGINAL SCREENS

From the Manufacturer

  • Perfect calibration – exact brightness and colour balance the manufacturer intended
  • Flawless touch – 100% accurate sensitivity and True Tone compatibility
  • Best resale value – original parts help your phone hold its trade-in price
  • Highest build quality – factory-grade glass and materials that match safety standards

What we do and why

A Note on Samsung Repairs

We only fit genuine Samsung Service Packs. Samsung’s patented pixel technology means aftermarket screens have consistently shown poor long-term quality. We won’t fit them. Other shops will, and they are available, but our prices reflect genuine Samsung screens.

iPhones and Other Brands

High-quality matching OLED screens are available for iPhones and most other brands.

We only OLED as standard on iPhones above the iPhone 13 series as they are a far better fit for Apple technology, an example of pricing is the iPhone 13 is £85 and that is for an OLED screen which comes with a 12 month guarantee. A lot of repair shops will charge more than this and fit LCD’s which are far inferior, and yes I get it there’s a price point that a consumer, such as yourself, is prepared to pay, however it seems that LCD’s damage more easily, the go black more often if dropped, they behave weirdly and it seems ridiculous not to offer you a better, more robust product as standard. So that’s what we are doin
